The visit to our company can be an opportunity to discover a territory rich in history, culture and art. Roncà is just over half an hour driving from both Verona and Vicenza. An excellent opportunity to immerse in the charm of the city of Juliet or to discover Andrea Palladio’s architecture. Certainly less known, but no less interesting, are other visits opportunities not far from our winery.
THE SOAVE HILLS
A ride by car, motorbike or bicycle in the hills surrounding our winery allows you to discover one of the most evocative vineyards in Italy. “The Soave Hills” have in fact entered in the register of national landscapes considered as historical and rural heritage of Italy by the National Observatory of Rural Landscape, for agricultural practices and traditional knowledge. In fact, in 1816 the first map has beenstoredin Napoleon’s land register, which records the Soave vineyards, which then in 1931, by the Royal Decree, the first Italian denomination has been established. In this area – perceived as a non-urbanized island in the Veneto countryside – there are still elements of historical building, votive capitals, forms of farming such as the pergola, dry stone walls.
THE SOAVE CASTLE
Symbol of a territory, the Castle of Soave was a central building in Venetian history. Dating back to the thirteenth century, repeatedly disputed between families and families in struggle. A place of great and rare charm, this Castle reveals, with tangible and veracious testimony, the breath of the past with the ability to enchant and fascinate those who, in silence, want to listen to their voices. Today it’s open to the public and to visits. link
BOLCA
It is a reality to be explored, able to bring back to prehistoric times, a few kilometers from Roncà, going up the Valle d’Alpone. It is Bolca, an archaeological site of great importance, considered the world capital of fossils of the tertiary era. Here you can visit the Fossil Museum with the precious Pesciara. link
