The Lessini Mountains
The Lessini Mountains territory marks the unmistakable wines of Tenuta Grimani. These mountains conformation immediately suggests the volcanic origin, with basalt soils that extends to the low hills where our vineyards are located. Here there is an ideal microclimate for the cultivation of the vine, thanks to the presence of the mountains to the north that repair from colder temperatures in spring with a good summer ventilation that allows a perfect ripening. Garganegais the most cultivated grape in the farm, a native variety at the base of Soave DOC Farinaldo, but used for the Macete IGT as well. The form of cultivation is the classic Veronese pergola. In wines it is possible to recognize the sapidity and the mineral stamp, typical of the vineyards cultivated on volcanic soils. Over the years, other varieties have been added to Garganega: Pinot Grey, Glera, Merlot and Cabernet. For each type of grape the most suitable land and microclimates have been chosen, acquiring other fields to continue the qualitative growing.
